(The Economist, 2011). Slovenia has adopted numerous plans to curb the emission of greenhouse gases but has failed to abide by its commitment to Kyoto obligations. Karl Erjavec, Slovenias Environment Minister, had said in 2009 government posing that the requirements of the Kyoto obligations were not met. In 2009, Slovenias carbon dioxide emissions were 1m kilo tonnes more than the Kyoto limit (EVROPA, 2009). It is now clear that disregarding of numerous initiatives and efforts, there has been a rapid increase in the greenhouse gases worldwide. This goes to prove that the efforts of the government in curbing the emission of greenhouses gases are not enough. There is an urgent need for Governments of all nations to take up this seriously and starting working towards reducing the greenhouse gas emissions before it is too late and the changes accommodate irreversible.
